Marbella Surf and Skate School

Marbella Surf and Skate School is a unique collaboration between local surf and skate instructors and Smart Costa Rica, created to help surfers of all levels improve their technique and connection with the ocean. The school is based in Playa Marbella, a consistent and uncrowded surf spot known for its beautiful waves and relaxed atmosphere. All our surf and surfskate instructors offer lessons in both English and Spanish, ensuring a clear and enjoyable learning experience for everyone.

Our mission is to help you progress in surfing, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced rider, by combining practical surf sessions in the ocean with complementary training on land. Through this integrated approach, students gain balance, coordination, and flow that translate directly to better surfing performance.

One of the highlights of our program is the surfskate bowl at Casas Guanacaste, a perfectly shaped concrete wave designed to replicate the sensations of surfing. Here, our instructors guide you through exercises that mirror real wave movements, allowing faster and safer progression. Together, these two elements, ocean and skate, form the foundation of a complete learning experience that makes Marbella Surf and Skate School truly special.
